Our favourite Britney Spears' new album 'Circus' is now out! :D

Britney Spears unleashed the video for the title track of her new album Circus on ET Thursday night, December 4, to the delight of her fans.

Britney may still be tentative with her live performances but when it comes to her videos she goes for the jugular. The Circus video is vintage Britney: raw and stirring. It would probably stir you even if you were comatose!

The release was originally scheduled for Friday, December 5, but was moved a day ahead following a leak over the internet.

An extended preview of the video was released earlier by ET.

Everyone's current favourite music video I believe ;)

Hillary Clinton's nomination to become President-elect Barack Obama's secretary of state may give her the edge she needs to finally retire her massive campaign debt.

RE:INSTALLING A HUSBAND

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as
NBA 5.0,
NFL 3.0 and
Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,

Desperate

=================================================================

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend:
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7

The weather yesterday was really awful for me I'd say. I went out and stepped back in. Apparently the lowest temperature of the day was -11
°C and the highest was -6°C. But then I managed to get out again. I felt like a body of a block of ice, especially my shoes, my face, most of all my ears. And the strong winds even made it much worster. Feels like those freeze sprays and the sounds of the winds were like the noises aeroplanes make when they pass by. I'm not sure about today's weather. I hope it's fine.

Well yesterday morning, which was still evening for the citizens of the United States. President-elect Barack Obama nominated Bill Richardson for commerce secretary. What also happened during this nomination is that the President-elect also put out some humour on Richardson's beard.

More cool stuff..

Teddy Bears Blast Off To Space :D

On Thursday, 4 December 2008, 4 teddy bears were blasted off to space by university boffins. These teddy bears were attached to a helium balloon and launched 30,000-metres into the atmosphere from Churchill College in Cambridge. They were fitted out with space suits designed by schoolchildren from the city as the toys braved freezing temperatures.

Idiots At Work - Chronicles Of Workplace Stupidity PAAART 2!

JUST LET ME ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS FIRST

Businesses are only as good as the people they hire. We've all come across people in stores, on the phone or in offices and wondered to ourselves "How did they get hired?" Well, sometimes there's not a lot out there to choose from. A questionnaire was sent out to Vice Presidents and personnel directors of the one hundred largest corporations asking them to describe their most unusual experience interviewing prospective employees. Here are some of their responses:

* A job applicant challenged the interviewer to an arm wrestle.

* Interviewee wore a Walkman, explaining that she could listen to the interviewer and the music at the same time.

* Candidate announced she hadn't had lunch and proceeded to eat a hamburger and French fries in the interviewers office.

* Candidate said he never finished high school because he was kidnapped and kept in a closet in Mexico.

* Applicant interrupted interview to phone her therapist for advice on how to answer specific interview questions.

RESUME OR RESUME NOT

In keeping with the "How did they get hired" question posed earlier, Fortune Magazine (July 21, 1997) put out an article which listed items from real resumes and cover letters. Here are some highlights:

* "I have lurnt Word Perfect 6.0 computor and spreasheet progroms. "

* "Wholly responsible for two (2) failed financial institutions."

* "It's best for employers that I not work with people."

* "Let's meet, so you can 'ooh' and 'aah' over my experience."

* "I have an excellent track record, although I am not a horse. "

* "My goal is to be a meteorologist. But since I possess no training in meteorology, I suppose I should try stock brokerage. "

* "The company made me a scapegoat, just like my three previous employers. "

* "References: none. I've left a path of destruction behind me. "

LET'S SEE WHAT DEVELOPS

A female employee of Eastman Kodak is suing the company under the Americans With Disabilities Act. The woman claims she suffers from "seasonal affective disorder," a form of depression, and wants Kodak to provide more light where she works - in a photographic darkroom.

QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS

We've all heard the expression "there's no such thing as a stupid question" right? Well, see for yourself. Here are some of the answers from a questionnaire sent out to a number of employers asking, "What's the strangest question they've been asked during an interview? "

Among the responses were:

* "What is it that you people do at this company?"

* "Why aren't you in a more interesting business?"

* "Will the company move my rock collection from California to Maryland? "

* "Does your company have a policy regarding concealed weapons?"

I found a really cool movie which is comin up soon. well actually it might take up to six months. I think its a kinda super hero movie.

Anyone remember the happy faces seen on the skies last Monday?

Venus and Jupiter, two of the brightest naked-eye planets, join a thin crescent moon to create a brief "happy face" in the sky as seen in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, December 1 2008. Astronomers and star gazers across the world are keeping watch for the rare astronomical phenomenon known as "Planetary Conjunction" which attracted many locals and tourists to come to the scene.

Idiots At Work - Chronicles Of Workplace Stupidity

A WEIGHTY SUBJECT

A woman called a travel agent and asked, "Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to who?" The agent replied, "No, why do you ask?" The timid sounding woman said, "Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said FAT, and I'm overweight, is there any connection?" After putting her on hold for a minute while the agent regained her composure she explained to the woman that the city code for Fresno is FAT, and that the airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage. Makes you wonder if the woman saw the word “terminal” on her luggage if she would have thought she was really sick.

A REAL TRAVEL ADVENTURE

A rather confused woman called to make reservations; "I want to go from Chicago to Hippopotamus, New York." Needless to say, the agent was rather confused by the request. "Are you sure that's the name of the town?" "Yes, I’m sure," said the client. "What flights to you have?" The agent got on the computer and tried every airport code in the country but couldn't come up with a city named Hippopotamus. She finally got back on the phone and told the person on the other end that she had had no luck locating a city with that name. "Oh, don't be silly. Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!" The agent scoured the map of New York state looking for any city that might vaguely sound or look like Hippopotamus. Finally, and as a last ditch effort; asked the woman, "You don’t, by any chance mean Buffalo, do you?" "Oh, right, that's it. I knew it was a big animal."

YOUR BRAIN - DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT

A woman had just purchased several items she needed from a department store and was handed the credit card receipt to sign. The cashier noticed that the back of the woman’s credit card wasn't signed and told her she couldn't complete the transaction without a signed card. The woman was slightly confused by this request but complied and signed the back of the card immediately after signing the receipt. The cashier took both the receipt and the card, held them up, and compared the signature. Surprisingly they matched.

THAT'S JUST GOOFY!

The management of Walt Disney World, after two months of negotiation, finally relented and no longer makes the costume character actors share their underwear. Before the final settlement the actors were only allowed to wear Disney provided underwear that were laundered and passed out randomly. The actor complained to management that the underwear was often not clean, smelled bad, had stains and "things have been passed around." Actors will now be allowed to have personal underwear, that Disney will issue, and the employees can take home and launder themselves. Of course this won't affect the character of Donald Duck because, as we know, he doesn’t wear any pants.

WORKING YOUR WAY UP FROM THE BOTTOM

A "Whistleblower" is someone who discovers and then reports illegal or unscrupulous activity in the workplace. One vigilant British worker, who obviously had some spare time on his hands or intestinal problems, measured several rolls of toilet paper and found they only had 200 sheets as opposed to the 320 sheets stated in the contract with the supplier. His employer, West Somerset District Council, demanded the vendor wipe the slate clean and was awarded $28,100. The employer's compensation for saving the company nearly $30,000? He was given a few days off. So if the company is ever "rolled" you can be sure who did it.

CRAZY HIRING PRACTICES

Disgruntled postal workers turning violent has become so commonplace even the worst stand-up comedians use it in their act. But the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission created the ultimate "punch" line in hiring practices. An article in the Employee Relations Law Journal explains, "Many individuals who become violent toward customers or coworkers suffer from some form of mental disorder. Yet for an employer to be too careful in screening potentially dangerous persons out of the work force is to invite liability for discrimination under the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act), while to be not careful enough is to invite tragedy and horrendous liability for negligent hire or negligent retention." Damned if you do - damned if you don't - and damned if it isn't just going to get worse.

For you art lovers out there, lately a new way of creating art has finally come.

Now using fishing heads, they claim it to save the planet.

Fish rendering factory: This piece, Modern Times, asks the question on everybody's lips – have we evolved into a society of asexual assembly line workers? :D

This artist must have the smelliest studio in the world, judging by her pungent art materials.
But Anne-Catherine Becker-Echivard has certainly turned heads with her unique scaled-down depictions of everyday life. Inspired by the silent movies of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, the Frenchwoman uses fish heads on models to address topics ranging from Aids to repression.

'Fish are a great method of communicating my opinions on this world,' says the 37-year-old, who lives in Berlin.

Again with the politics..

The big rumor is that Bill Clinton could be a possible replacement for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat when she becomes secretary of state. How about that, huh? Yeah. I believe it's the first time Bill has ever shown any interest in Hillary's seat. Isn't that ironic?

We're going from a Clinton in pantsuits to a Clinton who drops his suit pants.

Kylie Minogue comes to Beijing :D

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue, who went from soap actress to one of the world's most famous female recording artists, wowed fans at her first performance in the Chinese capital, Beijing, with an electric show.

Well, here's something kind of embarrassing for President Bush. This is true. This year, the White House Hanukkah cards they sent out were sent out with a Christmas tree on the front. ... It was very funny. And President Bush, very embarrassed by this. He said all the cards will be pulled and all of his Jewish friends will get a new card with a picture of the Hanukkah bunny. I think he's still a little confused.

In political news, President-elect Barack Obama has named Hillary Clinton as his secretary of state. I am no political expert. I don't pretend to know much about international affairs, but a Clinton back in office? Yes!

Well, they said today during her confirmation hearings, Republicans could force her to answer a lot of embarrassing questions about Bill Clinton's financial affairs. To which Hillary said, 'What kind of affairs? Financial? Oh, no problem!'

Some weird stuff...

An American man who rammed a woman's vehicle at more than 100mph with his truck told police he'd done it so because God told him to.

Both drivers received only minor injuries in the incident in the San Antonio region, which was allegedly prompted by God telling the man that the female driver 'needed to be taken off the road.'

'He just said God said she wasn't driving right,' explained Bexar County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kyle Coleman told the San Antonio Express-News. Exactly what was not right about her driving remains, for the moment, a mystery.

China celebrates 'WORLD AIDS DAY'

With colorful kites, art exhibits and inspirational performances across Beijing from the Bird’s Nest Olympic stadium to the chic 798 Art District, Chinese and U.N. organizers marked World AIDS Day with a commitment to wage battle against the epidemic threatening the world's most populous nation.

The display of broad unity, with the attendance of some AIDS activists that have been targets of China's sporadic crackdowns in the past, was a touching tribute to this year's theme of "One Goal, One Dream - of a World without Stigma"

"Stigma and discrimination are major obstacles in an effective response to AIDS," said Health Minister Chen Zhu at the launch of the campaign at the Bird's Nest Olympic stadium. "We need to engage all sectors of society in China to combat these issues and work to stop the disease."

People walk past a giant red ribbon set up on the facade of the Bird's Nest during a World AIDS Day event in Beijing.

China has an estimated 700,000 people who are HIV-positive, with about 85,000 people suffering from full-blown AIDS, according to estimates released by the Chinese government and U.N. health organizations. In comparison, just over 1.1 million Americans are estimated to be infected with HIV.
